I’m a lecturer at the School of Political Science at the University of Costa Rica, and the coordinator of the Observatorio de la Política Internacional Sergio Iván Moya Mena (https://opi.ucr.ac.cr/) for the same University. I have a PhD in political science from the University of Pittsburgh and certificates in data science and machine learning from IBM and PROMiDAT. My research focuses on comparative political behavior, and regionally on Latin America. My broader research agenda has focused on protest politics, party competition, politics and the internet, and ideology. Methods-wise, I am interested in the use of statistical and data science methods.
